The duo had the distinction of being experts in the field of Taxonomy & Anatomy of Algae, Gymnosperms, Angiosperms, Plant Physiology, Ecology and Conservation Biology, etc. And now, Prof. Srikrishna Ganaraja Bhat S., is leading the department with the constant support from Dr. Smitha P.G. and Dr. Sowmithra K.; striving hard to disseminate knowledge related to classical and applied topics on plant science. Laboratory has been upgraded with gadgets like LAF hood, Hot Air Oven, Micrometry, Trinocular Research microscope with camera and screen, Stereomicroscope, Autoclave, etc. to cater to the needs of student folks as well as to develop technical skills among them.
During the course of the three years, the Undergraduate students learn Botany along with Zoology or Chemistry as a core subject as per the NEP 2020.
