Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha Puttur (R.) was established in the year 1915 with an objective of imparting education to the Students of rural and backward areas in and around Puttur. Vivekananda Degree College was the first institution establishedin1965underVivekanandaVidyavardhakaSangha (Puttur Education society). It aims at proper shaping of character and inculcates a high sense of discipline and values amongst the students.

In Indian tradition a ‘Guru’ is pedestaled with the highest position in the society. Behind the success of every student there is a teacher.  They are the ones who build a good nation and make the world a better place. A teacher is a person who plays the most crucial role in shaping a child’s life. A good teacher takes child from earth to sky; he enables a child to stand on his or her feet. If there had not been teachers there would have not been any doctor, engineer, scientist etc.Withproper guidance ofteachers, students can become the pride of society. Ancient India had such great teachers. In ancient period Guru lead the students from the darkness of ignorance to the light of knowledge. Famous personalities like Swami Vivekananda, Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, Sir M Vishweshwarayya, Abdul Kalam were privileged to have such great teachers in their life. At present there is the scarcity of such great teachers.  A good teacher is hard to find but a good teacher can build a good student.Realizing this fact Vivekananda Vidyavardhaka Sangha has started the Bhavish Unit in 2018 and trains those students who are interested in teaching.
