Bachelor of Arts (BA)

BA is an undergraduate degree program that focuses on Humanities and Social Sciences. The curriculum of BA is designed to provide students with a wide range of inputs in languages (English, Kannada, Hindi, Samskrutha, History, Political Science, Sociology, Kannada Literature, English Literature, Economics, Journalism, Psychology and other related subjects.

Duration:

3 YEARS 6 SEMESTERS

Eligibility:

The candidates should have completed their 10+2 or equivalent examination from a recognized board with a minimum of 40% aggregate marks in any stream (Science/Commerce/Arts).

Curriculum:

The curriculum of BA covers the introduction to the basic terminology and concepts in Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Journalism, English, Kannada, Hindi and Samskrutha which will lead to advanced thoughts in the final year study. Their application part is ensured through project works, surveys, field visits and assignments.

Scope and Career Opportunities:

After completing BA, graduates can pursue careers in various government organizations, educational institutions, media, photo-video editing, private offices, or even start their own business or consultation offices. They can appear for the competitive examinations like IAS, IPS, KAS and others.

Higher Education:

Many students opt for higher studies after completing BA. MA in English, Kannada, Hindi, Samskrutha, Economics, History, Sociology, Political Science, Psychology, Counseling, Journalism, MBA (Master of Business Administration) and many more.

Skills Developed:

During the course of BA, students acquire knowledge about functioning of various institutions in a society and acquire the skills in crisis management, problem-solving, logical reasoning through the case studies in the respective subjects.
