M.Sc Mathematics

Master of Science in Mathematics is a post graduate course related to the deep insight into pure and applied mathematics. In this course, the candidates will study the problem solving skills and reasoning skills which help them to solve real life problems.

Duration:

The M.Sc. in Mathematics program typically spans two years divided into four semesters.

Eligibility:

The candidates should have completed their Bachelor of Science with Mathematics as a cognate subject by any one of the Universities established under the U.G.C Act or any other examination considered equivalent by the Mangalore University with a minimum of 45% in aggregate excluding languages.

Curriculum:

The curriculum of this course includes subjects like Analysis, Calculus, Geometry, Algebra, Differential Equations, Applied mathematics and many others. The course is structured to provide theoretical knowledge as well as practical exposure using computer applications like Latex and Python software.

Scope and Career Opportunities:

After the completion of this course, students can pursue careers in various domains such as Research, Teaching, Engineering branches, Banking sector, Economy etc.

Higher Education:

Students can pursue PhD in Mathematics.

During the course, students acquire skills in complex reasoning, numeracy, quantitative reasoning, analytical thinking, decision making, critical and logical thinking and others.
